The Dunn Family make a pledge each year after using the House to stay close 8 years ago...
In 2010 our family used the Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario for 28 nights so our son could recover from bacterial meningitis. In 2011 our family was picked to be the McHappy Family for the Windsor-Essex area. McHappy Day is a fun and exciting day that helps out Ronald McDonalds Houses across Canada. Since our family used the House they were asking for volunteers to go into McDonald's restaurants and lend a hand, after everything RMHC-SWO did for our family this was the least we could do. Since 2011 we look forward to McHappy Day-our son Thomas LOVES McHappy Day. When Thomas started school in 2014 we wanted to do something special for his class on McHappy Day to help raise awareness about this wonderful house we called home for 28 nights, so we decided we would buy Happy Meals for Thomas’ entire class since $1.00 from every Happy Meal goes towards RMH. What a fun day it would be for the kids in the class and what a great cause. We got it approved by the principal and we made a PLEDGE from that day forward that we would buy Thomas’ class and teacher a Happy Meal on McHappy from this day forward. The kids all know what day is coming up when the McHappy Day letters get sent to their parents.
This year, The Dunn Family PLEDGE is to buy 27 happy meals for Thomas’ Grade 2 Class and his teacher!
Have a McHappy Day!
The Dunn Family
