Bea, Dave, Guiliana, Adriana, Isabella and Sophia
LaSalle, Ontario
More than a year has passed since big sister Guiliana spent time with her Mom and Dad at Ronald McDonald House Windsor, but she certainly remembers it.
"I want to go back to the Red Door" said the three-year-old as she jumped off the couch at her home in LaSalle. Guiliana, "G" to her family, got her wish. The Costante family recently dropped by RMH Windsor with a special surprise…
Bea and Dave's had triplets on September 12, 2016. Fortunately, the births were complication-free, but the babies, all girls, were underweight and needed to stay in the NICU for 15 days until they were strong enough to go home. To celebrate the girls' first birthday, the family held a themed party ("Twinkle, twinkle little star") and in lieu of gifts requested donations to RMH Windsor.
We certainly don't have room for anything in this house, we're jam-packed in here! What better way to give back to something that was so helpful?
The Day Pass Program at the House allowed the family to remain near newborns Adriana, Isabella and Sophia while being able to spend quality time with "G". It was Bea's favourite time of the day.
It is fantastic, when you walk in the House there's a sense of peace and calmness. When you're in the NICU, there aren't any windows, and you're constantly surrounded by beeping machines. I loved spending time on the Lanai in the House; there you're surrounded by natural light. You can sit in the chair, close your eyes and feel the sun … it does wonders.
The triplets' birthday party raised close to $3,700. But the Costantes’ support doesn't end there. "I'd like to volunteer at the House," said Bea. "And we really hope our girls volunteer there one day as well". If they do, big sister "G" can lead the way. She'll just look for the "Red Door".
